Essay on the Doctrine of God: Reflecting on the doctrine of God as espoused in the view of theism, deism, atheism, and agnosticism, formulate a thesis in which you postulate an argument related to which of these views of God constitutes your own view of God and explain why this is your view of God over the other three views of God. The essay must provide the reasons for the argument with solid supporting evidence utilizing quality scholarly sources. The essay should identify views of God within the Christian tradition with which there is agreement and disagreement. Provide the reasons for the agreement and disagreement. The essay should incorporate at least two scholarly sources in addition to the course text. ESSAY must be submitted in CANVAS on September 25 by 11:59 pm.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR REFLECTION ESSAYS
The essay should be 3 pages doubled-space in New Times Roman, 12-point font size. The essay will require research beyond the textbook. THE ESSAY SHOULD NOT BE LESS THAN THREE PAGES AND NOT EXCEED THREE PAGES. The essay should have at least three reputable sources. The textbook should serve as one of the sources and there should be at least two reputable scholarly sources in addition to the course text. Reputable sources can include primary books, secondary books and academic journal articles. Some online sources are reputable as well; however, the student must be extremely cautious utilizing them as many online sources are not. Since these essays are short writing assignments, footnotes and endnotes are not necessary. However, the essay should consist of proper in-text parenthetical citations based on the citation style. Students are to utilize Turabian consistently as the citation style throughout the essay. The essay should have a selected bibliography consisting of bibliographic information for each source referenced in the parenthetical citations. The essay will be graded based on content and style consisting of the following factors: Introduction, Formulation of Thesis/Argument, Strength of the Thesis/Argument, Support of the Thesis/Argument, Conclusion, Originality of Thought, Documentation, Structure, Format, Diction, Spelling, Punctuation and Paper Length. Both essays are designed to foster learning and development of writing skills therefore each student should follow the paper writing format below.
