My team’s product is called Sam’s Wicked Seltzer (SWS). This is an alcoholic beverage that contains few calories from only containing one gram of sugar and uses only 100% fruit juices for flavoring. SWS contains 8% alcohol by volume and comes in three flavors.
The primary target audience are the younger generation of millennials. This generation is being targeted because they are concerned in their lives about two major aspects of SWS addresses in its product and which sets it apart from competitors. First is health. The beverage is low calorie, low sugar, and is only made with natural ingredients. Second, all SWS products will be packaged in environmentally safe aluminum cans which are easily recyclable. This should appeal to the millennial generation’s concern for the environment.
For this product, primarily a pull strategy is best since this strategy involves in “aiming promotional efforts directly at customers to encourage them to ask the retailer for the product” (Donnelly, 2018, p. 134). Secondly, a push strategy should be used to get “distributors, retailers and sales personnel to gain their cooperation in ordering, stocking, and accelerating the sales” of our product (Donnelly, 2018, p. 133). Since our product is marketed towards the millennial generation, a social media campaign is critical to the launch of SWS. This generation is accustomed to instantaneous feedback from technology, and they are very savvy with many forms of media. “Millennials preferred correspondence mediums in order of precedence are text messages, emails, social media, telephone calls, and face-to-face meetings” (Fairlie, 2022). It would be foolish not to include social media in the promotion, marketing, and advertising of SWS.

However, Apple remains clear about impacting positive change; the Apple rIngCare is a health-tracking device. The features and the benefits enable the user to take control of their health.
The rIngCare healthcare wearable tracker devices play an active role in the health of the user by maintaining their health, especially those with chronic illnesses and conditions. For example, “rIngCare” help individuals keep track of their diabetes, cancer, hypertension, obesity, chronic pain, cardiovascular diseases, and pulmonary disorders (BioSpace. 2022). ). In addition, Apple rIngCare tracks walking/running steps, calories burned, and body temperature and detects changes in the body to notify the individual of covid symptoms. The Apple health tracker ring, “rIngCare,” makes tracking activities effortless; it motivates and boosts individuals to exercise and create a healthy lifestyle (Nurmimaki, 2021). The experience a user receive is that they can feel at peace because their health is being monitored and tracked.
The primary target audience will be individuals conscience of their health (fitness enthusiasts and athletes). Also, the rInCare will target health professionals. The health professional can recommend Apple rIngCare to their patients to keep track of their daily activities and health status and improve their health.
Peter and Donnelly (2019) state that companies marketer’s goal is to ensure the consumers receive the company’s product well. Therefore, the right mix of promotional elements needs to be used. For example, advertising, sales promotions, and public relations communications are used if the product is new to make consumers aware of the product. Inform the buyers about the product’s benefit, convince the consumer of product value and entice the buyer to purchase the product.
I would create a social media campaign for the primary target market. For example, I would send the message “Take charge of your health” and use Facebook and LinkedIn social media platforms. I view both Facebook and LinkedIn, but I know individuals that view one but not the other.
A business’s most important marketing goal is to gain brand awareness and recognition. And to generate conversation about the products on social media will produce the results the company wants to see. In addition, a company needs to be aware of new industry trends to survive in a competitive market. Social media is a great way to share your brand’s mission and share stories. Creating social media profiles and posting content is free, therefore, cost-effective (Wutzke, 2022).
Tracking the results of social media campaigns is a challenge for brands and marketers. For example, Facebook has a feature to track impressions, follower growth, and engagement rate. The data is viewed by clicking on “Insights” at the top of the page (Barker, 2019).

How could you determine whether social media ads are worth the cost? Part 2(A) Influencers are people who have achieved a high level of visibility in social media, and have a large and relatively loyal crowd of followers. Because in most cases this process has evolved over a period of time, most influencers enjoy a level of trust from their followers that most celebrities may lack.
This makes them perfect for promoting brands, especially brands that have target segments that overlap with the identities of their core followers. Companies recruit these influencers and pay them money to promote their brands via their preferred social media. The method is very effective, because although the followers know that the influencer has been paid, the level of trust is such that they believe that the influencer would not promote a brand that he/she would not believe in. There are 3 keys here for a successful implementation of influencer marketing:
The bond and trust between the influencer and the followers is high
The demographics, life style, and values of the followers are a close match to the ones of the target market of the brand, and
The influencer will provide a strong, creative, and captivating endorsement that will appear authentic and passionate.
Your assignment is to pretend that you are such an influencer. A company has approached you and you have agreed to promote one of their brands.
Here is what you need to do:
Select a brand— Any brand will do. Be specific, avoid a brand that covers too many products. For example, BMW is too broad, but BMWi8 is fine. Coca Cola is again too broad, but Diet Coke is perfect.
Describe the selected brand’s image. What crosses the customers’ minds when they come across the brand name? Provide references for your answer.
Describe the brand’s target market in terms of demographics, lifestyle, values, and any other relevant criteria. Provide references for your answer.
Create a social media endorsement for the brand. Be creative. You need to slip into the role of the perfect influencer for such a brand. Your endorsement will have to be either a blog or a short (between 60-90 seconds) YouTube video (your choice). If you select the video, you need to provide the screenplay for it. If you choose to do a blog, just write the blog. The criteria is that you should make your endorsement authentic and passionate. Your points will be earned based on how well you communicated based on the criteria for effective messages.
Criteria for effective (“sticky”) messages:
The message is short and focused
The message is relevant to the audience
The message creative and has some unexpected and surprising elements. In other words, it captures the attention of the audience.
The message is concrete. Avoid abstractions, they confuse people.
The message has an emotional appeal. Logical arguments are not sufficient – people are guided primarily by emotions.
The message is in the form of a story. People make sense of the world via stories. A story format is not always possible, especially when the message has to be extremely short. In this case, you have plenty of space/time to create a story as the basis of the influencer brand endorsement.

How do we what we know? Pause for a minute or two and think about what you know about
Latin America (or any place for that matter—think about Los Angeles). Now, think about how
you know these things? Maybe it was first-hand experience by living or traveling there or, in
many cases, it is through some type of media exposure such as a magazine, television show,
novel, film, or social media. Now, think about how accurate or inaccurate your perceptions may
be.
The point of this exercise is to provide you with one more lens into the region through those who
live and work there using film. In this exercise students will choose a film made in Latin
America (i.e. not a Hollywood film taking place in Latin America so for example films such as
“Man on Fire”, “Proof of Life” are not acceptable). If you have are unsure whether a film is
acceptable or not, please consult with me in advance. Films can provide an educational window
into a particular geography, exaggerate certain elements of a place to make it seem surreal, or
mostly ignore that place giving the viewer the impression that it could be occurring anywhere.
Students are required to write a 2-3 page, single-spaced review and critique of a film, with the
review focusing on the role of place and integrating two themes or concepts from the course. The
structure of the paper should be divided into two parts as follows: 1) a one to two-paragraph
summary of the film (NO MORE THAN THAT-THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE I HAVE ALSO
SEEN THE FILM, SO DON’T NEED A RECAP); and 2) a critique of the role of place in the
film. The following questions are intended to guide through this part of the exercise: Where did
the film occur? How important was the location to the storyline? What did you learn about this
place because of the film? Do you feel this place was misrepresented in anyway? If so, how? If
not, why not? Also, try to identify aspects of the film that helped to depict the place (e.g
architecture, clothing, landscapes). Your grade will be based largely on how well you discuss the
